Visang, a global EdTech company, announced on April 22 that it had signed a Korean language e-learning content licensing agreement with Indonesia’s leading online education and training platform, PT Pelatihan Pemenang Asia (PINTAR). PINTAR is a leading Indonesian platform serving around 2.3 million learners, offering diverse online learning programs and study-abroad consulting services for adult learners. This marks the first partnership PINTAR has signed with an overseas company.

Through this agreement, Visang will provide PINTAR with Korean language e-learning content, including TOPIK and EPS-TOPIK courses, along with mock exams. Starting this May, PINTAR will offer Visang’s content on its platform and will also provide live instruction to support learners preparing for general Korean studies as well as TOPIK and EPS-TOPIK certification exams, thereby maximizing learning outcomes. Learners are expected to effectively study Korean by combining e-learning materials with live instruction.

This partnership will significantly expand access to Korean language education in Indonesia. The country is experiencing a surge in demand for Korean language education, particularly among those seeking study or employment in Korea. According to the Ministry of Employment and Labor, the number of Indonesian workers staying in Korea ranked fourth globally in 2024, showing a 21% increase from the previous year. In addition, the number of Indonesian students enrolled in Korean universities and graduate schools increased by approximately 41% from 2019 to 2024, maintaining steady growth.

Ray Pulungan, CEO of PINTAR, stated, “Interest from language learners around the world in the Korean language has grown over the past few decades in no small part due to South Korea’s increasing global influence within the world economy, technology innovation and global popular culture. Indonesia’s relationship with South Korea has also strengthened during that time span, with greater interest from Indonesians to study and work in South Korea as a result. This partnership with Visang will allow PINTAR to better serve this segment in our market to facilitate increased cross-border talent mobility as well as closer bilateral relations between our two nations through enduring people-to-people connections"
